I Had a Dream

I had a dream last night and you'll never guess who showed up to tell me about the 2012 NASCAR Season. NASCAR Legend and soon to be Hall of Fame Jackman and Crew Chief Mr. Jeff Hammond. Why Mr. Hammond? Not sure but I've been lucky enough to have been around him and he has always gone out of his way to be kind to me and even helped me with my Fan's Reporter Videos. He's the nicest guy I've met in NASCAR so I guess that is why he popped into my Dream last night. How he got there I don't know but I do know to pay attention because he knows what he is talking about. I won't go on to QUOTE Mr Hammond because it was just a Dream [and have you seen the guns on that man?!] but here are a couple things I remember talking about.

The Daytona Testing was great for Race Fans and I know I'm one of the biggest race fans. Seeing the cars back on the Track and hearing all the familiar voices was awesome. Also seeing NASCAR take steps to minimize the Two Car Draft that Fans hate was great to see. They opened up the Restrictor Plate to give the cars more speed but took away Radiator capacity and air flow. They went from a 5 gallon Fuel Tank to a 2 gallon tank and moved the air intake more to the center. And let's not forget the pressure relief valve they brought down to 25psi. what does this mean? It means the cars will overheat much quicker in the Two Car Draft hopefully bringing the cars back to the big packs. You will see it I believe at the end of the race to pull away from the pack when they won't care if it over heats. We'll have to see how the race is but I do like the direction NASCAR is heading for we Fans.

So the Busch Brothers are teaming up to take on the NASCAR Nationwide Series for Kyle Busch Racing which I predicted a few blogs down. I think it's a great move as both Drivers can drive the wheels off a car and both get much media attention all be it negative. But any press is good press if they spell yer name right I always heard. Plus add the fact that their sponsor is Monster Energy Drink and they like their teams a little ROWDY. Look for this car to be a big contender for NNS Owners Championship.

Who should we watch out for and who might be making better moves this year? Let's start at the low numbers and work our way up. The #5 Car with Kasey Khane now driving for Hendricks Motorsports is putting a talented driver into a top notch car and you can look to see him be in the Chase and winning some races. Denny Hamlin in the #11 has had a year to get over being snake bit after coming in second to Jimmie Johnson and has added NASCAR Champion Crew Chief Darian Grubb. Look for AJ Allmendinger in the King's #43 car to have a great year and especially with the confidence building Win in the 24 Hours of Rolex. Who doesn't love Bobby Lebonte in the #47 of JT Daughtery? Ok I just like them because they will have my friends at BUBBA Burger Racing on them at Pocono and Chicagoland. Like him or not Kurt Busch in the #51 is going to leave a mark on this NASCAR season. Phoenix Racing may be a smaller team but they have a heart of a Lion and now a driver to match. And last but never least I believe ole Junebug just might pull off a couple of wins this year in his Hendricks #88. That make you JR fans happy to hear?

To say I am ready for this season to get here is an understatement. Heck I've been able to tell my friends at any given day or time how many days and hours to the start of the Daytona 500 since the day after Homestead. It was good to see Jeff in my dream last night and I know he would totally understand me hoping it's the 3 Miss Sprint Cup Girls next time.

That's my Dream and I'm sticking with it!
Kick it Pickle!
