I’m a pretty lucky NASCAR Fan and have been to many but not all of the couple dozen tracks we race on but none is like Bristol. I can’t quite nail down what it is that makes it such a fan favorite but I’m here to tell you it is. Is it the short 1/2 mile track and it’s still of racing, or the 100,000+ race fans camping so close together in the Tennessee mountains or because the Fall race is at night? I can’t tell you exactly but if you have not been you need to add it to your Bucket List and here’s why.
Bristol Motor speedway was completed in 1961 so they are celebrating the 50th Anniversary and boy are they. The track itself is a mere .533 miles long and is a Concrete Oval which destroys tires. The Banking is Variable at 24-30 degrees in the Corners to 4-9 degrees on the Straights. You’ll be enjoying the race with about 160,000 of the sports best and most excited fans. Bristol Motor Speedway boasts 55 Consecutive Sells outs which is a NASCAR Record. People just love the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile” and when you come to a race you will find out why.Kyle has dominated the last couple of races at BMS winning last year’s Night Race and this year’s Spring Race. He’s coming off a win at Michigan so can her do it again? The Track Race Record holder is the great Cale Yarborough at 101.074 that he set back in 1977. Did you know it’s also the only sprint Cup track that has [2] two Pit Roads? With the Race for the Chase just a few races away look for some knock down drag out fights at this week’s race.
Most folks like myself get there early to enjoy the camping and fellow races fans and all the track and surrounding area has to offer. Make sure if you are there to check out a few places and you just might see me. I’ll be watch the Hauler Parade Thursday night along with visiting my pals at The National Tailgating League over at the Earhart Campgrounds as well as visiting all the Crazies at Jelloville. while at the Track before the Races Friday and Saturday come see me Emcee at the Sharpie Interactive Experience at Bristol’s Midway.
Come see me at Bristol Baby where I won’t Jerk ya but I promise to Perk ya!
peace
Pit Boss Mike
