VIDEO: Walter "Bubba" Eaves: Bubba Burger 250 at RIR

I have to say the biggest perk I have received to date as The Fan's Reporter is meeting people around the Country. Sure meeting Drivers, Team Owners and celebs has it's sparkle but, it's the every day "regular guy" I seem to bond the closest to. Walter "Bubba" Eaves is just such one of those regular guys and I met him at his Bubba Burger 250 at Richmond International Speedway.

The good folks at Bubba Burger's Facebook page supplied me with weekend event Tickets, Hospitality and Pit Road Passes so off to Richmond I went. When I got down there I hooked up with my crazy friend Jimmy Joe Ball and I knew if we didn't go to Jail it was going to be a fun time.

First stop was the Bubba Burger Recipe Contest at the Speed Stage where we were teased by the smell of them dang burgers. We did meet up with RIR Track President Doug Frits and filmed a short video thanks to my buddy Richie Denzler. I saw Mr. Eaves as they introduced him to all the important people but didn't get a chance to tell him I love them Angus Burger like a Pig likes not being Bacon.

Next Jimmy Joe and I headed for the Hospitality Pavillion where they had Bubba Burgers I never heard of so we co-minced to fixing us up a few with some cold libations. Mr Eaves was just a table away so I made sure Jimmy Joe minded his Qs & Qs but that's another whole story on it's own.

After we finished a half dozen Bubba Burgers [and did you know they make them shaped like Texas?] I thought it might be a good time to say howdy and thanks to my host Mr. Walter "Bubba" Eaves. He was sitting with friends and family and lots of fans all around so I politely walked up and introduced myself and said who I was and thanks. He was so kind that he even said yes to a short 1 minute interview.
What I thought was going to be a quick hello/how do you do interview turned into just talking like two ole boys'll do. Thanks to Jimmy Joe for turning the camera back on after Walter and I found we were both were Marines at one time. The instant bond he and I had at that point was a blessing to me and I will never forget it or him. Thanks Walter for a great race weekend and your warm heartfelt handshake and embrace. God bless you till I see you again Sir!

Make sure you watch both parts folks! Buy a Bubba Burger too!
