Through an audition video and many requests for "Likes" on Facebook I won the opportunity to be a Fan's Reporter for Bristol Motor Speedway and the Jeff Byrd 500. I had never been to BMS and as a Fan it was very high on my Bucket List so this was awesome.
They provided me with a Flip HD Video Recorder, Race Tickets, Pit Passes and much, much more. I had very high expectations of how a fan would be treated but they blew me away and followed Mr. Jeff Byrd's motto of "Exceed Expectations".
I shot about 115 videos from around the track and on Pit Road and BMS is editing many for use on their Official Bristol Motor Speedway web site. They liked my work so much I'm invited back for the August Night Race. YES!!!
There are three videos from the 115 I uploaded to a youtube page. These and many more will be brought together with my upcoming podcasts and much more. You can peek them at this link:

Speedway Motor Corp contacts are working to get me HOT PASSES for all of their tracks and would include Atlanta, Bristol, California, Las Vegas, Charlotte, New Hampshire, Texas and Kentucky.
Thanks everyone for helping and supporting and encouraging me.
The Races both Nationwide and Sprint Cup were great to watch at BMS. I felt like I was sitting with about 140,000 of my closest friends. The seats were great and it looked to me like they all were. You could see every inch of the action of which this year seemed a little less.
ReplyDeleteThey repaved the track and I think changed the degree of angle of the curves. I did hear some fans complain it was not an improvement and the 3 Wide racing and less crashes made it less enjoyable for them.
I did notice there were not as many crashes as I expected for a short track race but I still love the racing that weekend. I saw lil Miss Patrick get taken out and get out of her car yelling at a couple drivers as they came by. Priceless.
It was a great Race but I think with Summer heat and the season getting along there will be the old Bristol for the August Night Race.
We camped up in Dragway Campgrounds where we met a bunch of crazy races fans and I got a short interview with Hermie Sadler.
Thanks Bristol!
